My chosen photo for my front cover!

I have chosen this photograph for my front cover as i like the style of the models; tattoo, sunglasses, ciggarette, t-shirt and jeans- this makes him look casaul but also cool.
The main reason i chose this photograph is becuase of the sunset in the background. I took this photo while on a holiday summer, this photo is of a family friend. For my final front cover, I will  edit the contrast and lighten the background to make the sunset more visible and so my model stands out more.
I also like the stance and the body language of my model. He looks relaxed, however he still looks strong and as though he 'has alot of presence'. When i planned my front cover, I wanted my model to face the camera straight on as it would show they are interacting with the audience. Also you would be able to see alot of expression in the models face when you can see their eyes straight forward. However, i chose this photograph with the model looking away as i feel as though it makes to model look more interesting, mysterious making the audience intrigued and wanting to read about the model(DJ). Also it gives the impression he is cool in a sort of unbothered way, this matches how I have protrayed him in the interview.

selection of photos which i am considering for my double page spread!

All of these photos were taken on a nightout in Leeds, i decided to take them on a night out as i wanted to capture a realistic clubbing vibe and atmosphere. Like the other photos, i have photoshopped the contrast of these pictures, however i will photoshop them futher.
I plan to use these pictures on my contents page.

Selection of photos which i am considering for my front cover!

I will decide out of these photos which will be my front cover. I took most of theses photos at an apartment and a couple on a night out in Leeds.
A family friend, is a DJ/club photographer for his profession therefore i ask if he would lend me his one of his professional camera. He agreed and lent me his 'Canon EOS 1D Mark III Digital SLR Camera', which he taught me how to use. I have photoshopped the contrast and bightness on some of these photos, however i will use the college mac to photoshop them futher. I will then decide which photo to use for my front cover.

Planning for photo shoot.

Location - Some of the photos from a night out in Leeds, the close up shots in an apartment.

Consumes and style - Simiple vest top, 3/4 checked shorts, and pumps. Simiple, young and cool for a night out. Tattoos.

Props - Cigarette, sunglasses and hat.

Models - Nigel Meadows and James Blackshaw

Chosen magazine name.

Throughout the research and planning of the magazine, i have consantly been thinking about possible names for my magazine. I narrowed my list down to make my final choice, these include; Electric, Disco Dirt, GateCrashers, Vibe and replay. My final decision for the name of my magazine is 'Disco Dirt'. I chose name this as it is unusual and intriguing. It is also not a typical name for a dance music magazine, some examples of typical dance magazine names include; Ignite, Rythm nation, and Dance mania. I wanted to stay clear of any typical dance magazine name, as i wanted my magazine to be unqiue.
I also carried out informal research regrading the name of my magazine. As i asked my friends and family to chose the name they liked best out of the five in my short list. Disco dirt was the most popular answer i got, which proves to me the general public like this name for a dance magazine. Therefore, my magazine will be named 'Disco Dirt'.

Research and Planning: Band image

This is an image of the band 'Friendly Fires'. They are styled to look like typical guys on a night out, with shirts and blazers.
The setting is very dark with lots of lights in the background, this suggests they are in a nightclub. The look like three normal guys on a night out, which creates a sense of normality which the public can relate to.
The body language of the two men in shirts is very odd as they look stiff, which creates the impression they are uncomfortable. They also have a blank facial expression and are looking straight forward. They seem to be uncomfortable being in a nightclub which may create a comical effect. The guy in the blazer in the middle of them, has a much more relaxed body image and he is looking away from the camera. This creates the impression that he is comfortable being in a nightclub and is the 'cooler' one of the band.
